We are very excited to have not only launched the new and improved social community site just for horse and pony enthusiasts, but our free horse classifieds site as well!!

PerfectSteed took everything that we, as horse people, wanted in a classified ad listing and made it all completely free. Ads include up to 10 photos, video embedding, full contact information including a website link of your choice, pedigree field, and the ability to make and include your seller profile.

The main goal was to make it easy to use, and to make it invauluable to buyers and sellers alike as all ads have the potential to include all the information needed for a great horse ad!

Uploading Photos to EquineEarth.com:

To post photos, go to your "Dashboard" on the far left of the menu. Directly to the right of your avatar/profile photo there are two sets of "Quick Links". The first is "Submit Links" on the left and then "Manage Links" to the right and center of the page.

"Upload A Photo" is the fourth option down on the left hand quick links menu under "Submit Links". Once you click on the "Upload A Photo" you will have the option to select an existing photo album or create a new one. These are your personal albums and will then skip the photo category selection process. If you do not make or choose an album, then your photo will go into the general public photo section where you will be prompted to choose a category.

On the "Process Photo" page there is a "Title" field to name your photo, followed by a "Description" field to give more details about what was going on in the photo, then you can choose the "Category" that best fits your photo (you only see this if you DO NOT put the photo in a personal album). The main categories to choose from are Horses, Artistic Photos, Family & Friends, and Event Photos.

The next section you will come to when uploading any photo is the photo content warning labeled "Mature Content". In this section, please note if your photo is suitable for all viewers of all ages then you can leave the selection on the default "No". If your photo is suggestive or risque enough that you wouldn't want minors under the age of 12 to see it, then please select the middle option "Yes (warning)" and it will bring up a warning message before letting anyone view the photo. If your photo is highly suggestive or of material that would not be suitable for anyone under the age of 18, then please select the "Yes (strict)" option so that it will restrict all users under the age of 18 on the site from viewing the photo. ~~~Please note that these 'photo content ratings' does not mean that anything pornographic or extremely grotesque or highly offensive will be allowed on the site.

The next option to choose is "Discussion" where you have five options for your comment settings on the photos that you upload. The first option that is the default setting, is to allow comments. Next is 'encourage advanced critique' and 'discourage criticism' although we have not seen that these choices make a difference on the comments section. The last two options are 'moderate comments' meaning that comments will need to be approved by you first before they can be seen by all viewers, and the last choice is 'disable comments' that would not allow comments to be posted about your photo.

"Public Rating" follows the "Discussion" option and only has two choices. Select 'Yes' to allow viewers to rate your photo, or 'No' to not allow rating of your photo.

The "Tags" field allows you to put in information that would help your photo to be found in a search on the site or internet as a whole. My tags for example on this forum post would be 'SunStar, Admin, wiki, photos'.

The last field before saving your photos is "Download Enabled". It defaults to 'Yes' which allows viewers to download your photo, you can also choose 'No' which is my choice on all of my photos as they are meant to downloaded and shared to others. If you want to share with your friends, then 'Yes' would be appropriate for you.

Then hit the "Save" button and enjoy your photos Smile

How Do I Hide My Birthday or Age:

From the menu, select the second drop down 'Privacy Settings' under the main "Settings" tab. There will be a section for "Invisible Mode" then "Profile" and "Notifications" then the last section at the bottom of the page is "Blocked Users".

Under the "Profile" section at about halfway through the page, the bottom setting you can change in this section will be 'Date of Birth' (right above the 'Save Changes' button).

From here you can select one of the following five options:
1) Display age and date of birth (default)
2) Display age and day/month of birth
3) Display only my age
4) Display only day/month of birth
5) Hide my age and date of birth

Once you have selected which option you would like, select the "Save Changes" button and now your birth date will or will not appear based on your preference.

Canceling/Deleting An Account:

If you decide that EquineEarth.com is not for you, at least you can cancel your own account.

Simply go to the "Settings" tab on the main menu and select "account Settings" from the drop down menu. At the bottom of the page under the other option settings is a place to cancel your account by selecting the clickable "Cancel Account".

If/when you do decide to cancel your account, please take the time to let us know why you have chosen to do so. Your feedback on the site generates improvements!

Photos: How Do I View All?

When you select "Photos" from the drop down menu under "Explore" you will only see the photos that have been added by members WITHOUT putting them into folders. To view the rest of the public photos that ARE in folders, simply select the "Photo Albums" option in the right hand corner of the screen under the main menu.

Another great way to view many of our public photos on the site is to select "Photo Battles" from the same area on the "Photos" page. This option brings up two photos at a time and lets you pick which one appeals to you more, giving those photos better ranking to show up higher on the "Top Battle" section of the "Photos" page.

Browsing All Members:

To browse all members on the site, simply select the main "Browse" button in the menu vs selecting one of the drop down options. From there you can refine your search or scroll down the page through the EquineEarth.com members.

Changing Your Forum Signature:

To change your signature that is below each of your forum posts follow these instructions.

Simply go to the "Settings" tab of the main menu and select "Account Settings" from the drop down options. The second to last option on the page is "Forum Signature". Remember to select "Save" once you are done.

To add a photo in your signature, use the following HTML code:
< img src="http://www.websitename.com/imagename.jpg/" / >

There is a space inserted in the above code to allow it to show here, remove the space after the first < and before the ending > to make the code work.

Sharing Photos to Social Sites (MySpace, Facebook, Digg, etc):

Sharing photos of your own or ones that you like is easy!

When viewing a photo on the site that is in an album, the "Share" option is on the left hand side of the photos. From there you can share it to any of the social bookmarks listed (Newsvine, Reddit, Digg, Google, Ma.gnolia, Technorati, Del.icio.us, and StumbleUpon), share it with your friends here on EquineEarth.com, email it to anyone you would like to, or post to the social sites (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and Friend Feed).

When viewing photos on the "Photos" page that are not in albums, the "Share" option is on the right hand side, 2nd option down with the same features as above.
