charity ride
Posted October 10, 2010 by giddyup in Family & Friends, Farm News, Personal News
I would like to invite everyone for a charity ride in the outskirts of gilbert and pelion. All proceeds would go to locklairs farm and garden to pay for Danny Shull's doctor bills. This ride would be open to anyone who wants to participate.

My sweet little Kinsley took a blow to the upper left front leg today. Cut her right in the muscle area... It nicked an artery and was spurting blood. Thank goodness I was there. I put cold compresses on her and got the bleeding stopped. She was hurting so bad... poor baby. She actually had tears coming out of one eye. I got the bleeding stopped and cold hosed her for a while and gave her 2.5 grams of banamine. Bless her heart, she's only 8 weeks old. That brought back so many horrifying memories of the day 2 years ago I lost my 7 week old Racing Kaine. I was a mess and so scared. The vet did xrays and she's going to be just fine... nothing bad, Kinsley's just going to be sore for a few days. Thank God she's ok.

J&M Acres Horse Rescue
Posted August 25, 2010 by JMRescue in horse rescue, Farm News
J&M Acres horse rescue in Maple Ridge, B.C. began in 1995. Since then we have purchased 300+ horses destined for slaughter and placed them in good homes. Our aim is to get as many horses as possible off the meat truck and into good homes.

J&M Acres is also part of the B.C. Standardbred Horse Adoption Society and works with the BCSA, BCSBS and harness racing industry partners to find new homes and second careers for retiring Standardbreds. The horses are fostered at J&M Acres before being placed in new, loving homes.
