charity ride
Posted October 10, 2010 by giddyup in Family & Friends, Farm News, Personal News
I would like to invite everyone for a charity ride in the outskirts of gilbert and pelion. All proceeds would go to locklairs farm and garden to pay for Danny Shull's doctor bills. This ride would be open to anyone who wants to participate.

My sweet little Kinsley took a blow to the upper left front leg today. Cut her right in the muscle area... It nicked an artery and was spurting blood. Thank goodness I was there. I put cold compresses on her and got the bleeding stopped. She was hurting so bad... poor baby. She actually had tears coming out of one eye. I got the bleeding stopped and cold hosed her for a while and gave her 2.5 grams of banamine. Bless her heart, she's only 8 weeks old. That brought back so many horrifying memories of the day 2 years ago I lost my 7 week old Racing Kaine. I was a mess and so scared. The vet did xrays and she's going to be just fine... nothing bad, Kinsley's just going to be sore for a few days. Thank God she's ok.

Well it finally happened, my CJ got sick! Its the first time in almost 3 years that anything serious has happened with her so guess I am pretty lucky. Monday night I went out to feed her when I noticed a small scrape on the side of her head. I wiped it and it started poring out this &^%$ stuff. Had Gary check it when he got home. We cleaned it all out and put some povidine on it. Next night it didn't look any better so we called the vet out. He sedated her, cleaned and disinfected the wound when he found an absyess on her chin area. He lanced and drained that, gave her antibotics with instructions on how to clean the areas and meds to give her dailey. Guess it is strep which is the 1st step to strangles!! Thank goodness we keep a close eye on her!! Thanks to my Miss Sandi also for her instructions on dealing with this. CJ is already feeling better, talking up a storm and, pardon the pun, eating like a horse!!!!
